Parents will do anything for their kids - and in this particular case in Germany, a dad wears skirts to support his cross-dressing 5-year-old son. Nils Pickert of southern Germany has started wearing skirts to support his son, who likes to wear dresses and skirts.

"My five year old son likes to wear dresses," Pickert said in an interview with German magazine EMMA. "Sometimes men just have to be role models." He went on to say that he doesn't mind making a fool out of himself by doing so.

His hometown consists of less than 100,000 people. Pickert described it as being "Very, traditional, very religious. Plainly motherland. Here the partiality of my son are not only a subject for parents, they are a townwide issue."

Pickert chose to wear the skirt when his son feared that he would be bullied at school for wearing skirts and dresses.

"I didn't want to talk my son into not wearing dresses and skirts," Nils told EMMA. "He didn't make friends in doing that in Berlin already and after a lot of contemplation I had only one option left: To broaden my shoulders for my little buddy and dress in a skirt myself."

According to The Daily What, Pickert wants to raise his children with gender equality. "I'm not one of those pseudo-intellectual justice, and then, as soon as the child is born, falls back into the comfortable and clichéd gender roles.
