Eddie Murphy is dead according to website Global Associated News. However, the report has been confirmed as completely false, and seemingly was just made up as a hoax to try and gain further attention.

According to the GAN: "The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Eddie Murphy lost control of his snowboard anda struck a tree at a high rate of speed."

The fake report sparked a wave of concerned fans to take to social media sites discussing the death. However, for the eagle eyed readers there was a disclaimer contained at the bottom of the GAN article explaining that the story was completely fake and fabricated for “entertainment purposes.”

The fake report has caused outrage among many Murphy fans who do not see how lying about a celebrity’s death could be in any way deemed “entertainment.”

The disclaimer read: "Fake ...This story is 100% fake! This is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes."

The lie explained that the 51-year-old actor was “air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death.”

Eddie Murphy appears to be a popular figure among those who find it entertaining to start death hoax rumors. He has previously “died” just last month, as well as once in 2011.

Other fake celebrity deaths recently have been Bill Cosby, who said it was “not funny,” as well as Rihanna, and British actor Robert Pattinson.
