He isn't allowed to be in town at the risk he will be brought in by the cops and put in prison for tax evasion charges, but Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) will once again risk the chance of being captured and make a secret appearance in Salem on Days of Our Lives.

Abigail Realizes The Big Mistake She Made With Chad

Naturally, his appearance will only be known to his last surviving son, Chad (Billy Flynn), who will be suspicious as to why his father has shown up back in town again--especially since the last time he arrived it was to tell Chad the bad news that his sister, Kristen (Eileen Davidson) had been killed in Italy.

Stefano may have come back once more to check and see how various plots he and Chad have cooked up to eliminate their enemies are progressing. Learning that Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) has almost successfully stolen most of the business the Kiriakis owned Mad World back to the DiMera side as a means of sticking it to both Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Victor (John Aniston) will likely please him). However, learning that things on the Clyde (James Read) front haven't turned up anything will likely displease him.

Stefano Confronts Marlena About Kristen's Death

Stefano knows Clyde is a powerful enemy, and purchased Sonix so that Will (Guy Wilson) would right an expose on him--but the piece may be too tame to really pinpoint anything, with the only real negative commentary about Clyde in the article being what he paid his man in Poplar Bluff to say--revealing his dark past with alcohol. Stefano still is unaware that Clyde is the one who was responsible for EJ's death, but he may know there is something darker to uncover--and he may encourage a new plan to expose it.

He will also be determined to learn more about how Chad has made things progress when it comes to getting Abigail (Kate Manso) back from Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), and though the news that they have slept together will be encouraging, it could also be something Stefano won't be pleased about--urging Chad to make it into far less of a big deal than it actually is the next time he and Abigail are together.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
