The official teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight has been released, showcasing Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell very heavily.

Why Are So Many Movies Being Released This Weekend?

Anticipation for Tarantino's upcoming Western is continuing to rise with the release of the new teaser trailer. While the trailer features a lot of dialogue, mostly from Jackson and Russell, it doesn't quite give a full view of what moviegoers can expect to see.

The teaser opens with Jackson's character, Major Marquis Warren, literally sitting on a pile of bodies as Russell's character, John 'The Hangman' Ruth, pulls up in a stagecoach. Jennifer Jason Leigh's character, Daisy Domergue, who has a black eye, is also sitting in the stagecoach. "Got room for one more?" Major Warren character humorously asks The Hangman.

The Hangman then busts into cabin full of fellow bounty hunters, introducing them to Daisy. He explains that Daisy is "wanted dead or alive for murder" and that he will hang her at sunrise, unless anyone objects.

The trailer then shows various unconnected scenes from the movie, interspersed with dialogue by Major Warren. It concludes with the message that the film was shot in 70mm (Ultra Panavision 70). This filming style was used in the late 1950s and early '60s, mostly for epics and Westerns. The Hateful Eight is the first film since 1966's Khartoum to be shot in Ultra Panavision 70).

The film also stars Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir and Zoë Bell.

The Hateful Eight comes out in theaters on Dec. 25 in limited release, followed by a Jan. 8 wide release.
