Days after rumors swirled about Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ separation, the French actress and singer finally broke her silence about the alleged split.

 “In the winter I separate, in the summer I marry. It’s been 15 years since I’ve been getting married every year. In addition I have to answer all these rumors!” Paradis told Europe 1 radio station after attending the premiere her new film, Café de Flore.

While Paradis’ comments remained shrouded in mystery, the actress made it known she isn’t a fan of marriage or the idea of having a soul mate. “If you lose your soul mate everything is done for,” she continued.

In 2009, Depp recalled seeing Paradis for the first time. “[At the time], I saw her back about 30 yards away. I saw her back and her neck. [She] turned around suddenly and looked at me – and I was stupefied.”

According to People, the couple lived together for 14 years, but had not been seen on the red carpet in over a year.

Depp is currently in LA with the couple’s two children, but will head to New Mexico to film The Lone Ranger.
