Despite taking on one of the steamiest scenes on television, Krysten Ritter feels quite the contrary about those scenes on Jessica Jones.

The actress plays the leading role in the Netflix series about a superhero out for revenge where she's had some enticing love-making moments with co-star Mike Colter. In Monday's report from People, Ritter said that as heated as it looks, it's actually not that hot.

"It's so choreographed," she said at Netflix's Television Critics Association panel. "There's really nothing sexy about it."

The benefit that comes with the sex scenes though is having Colter as the other half of them.

"If you're going to have to do a scene like that, it's not terrible to do it with Mike. He's all right looking," Ritter said. "But he is also just a nice guy and always has your back. I always felt really safe and protected."

Behind the camera, Ritter and Colter's relationship is much more buddy-like. And when they have to get in bed together to shoot, they "try to keep the jokes to a minimum."

"So when we're not doing that, we're joking," Ritter said. "When we've got to do that, we try to keep it to a minimum because it's a little interesting when you're kind of half-naked."

The first season of Jessica Jones is on Netflix. It was also announced that the series has been renewed for a second season.
