David Tennant's new Marvel villain will have an extraordinary knack for persuasion, and it's a gift that, as you can already guess, Kilgrave will use for his own nefarious purposes. From winning over a million dollars in one hand of blackjack to commandeering a family's flat, Tennant's character can get anything he wants while still looking down his nose at the world (see video below).

Kilgrave's gift, however, isn't all it's cracked up to be. Tennant previewed the downsides while speaking with The Guardian.

"He's got this extraordinary ability that whatever he tells people to do, they are compelled to do. Initially that seems like a very straightforward sort of fantasy concept, but, as you start to unpick it, it becomes quite complex kind of morally," Tennant explained. "How do you cope with that? How can you tell if people are doing things because they want to or because you're asking them to? How can you have any sense of what the world is and what the world should be if your world is so particularly unique to you?"
