Actress Jada Pinkett-Smith and her husband of 16 years have been rumored to be in an open marriage.

And in an interview with HuffPost Live, Pinkett-Smith said she thinks people get that idea that they have an open relationship because they seem so relaxed with one another.

She said in the interview, "I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay. Because at the end of the day Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa."

She added, "I think that just comes from respecting that you're in a partnership but that you also are an individual as well."

The rumors that the couple are in an open marriage started in 2008. The Huffington Post reported that Will Smith said it was OK if she was with other men.

And there were also rumors that the couple was getting divorced because Pinkett-Smith allegedly cheated with singer Marc Anthony, who was formerly married to singer Jennifer Lopez. However, Us Weekly reported in 2011 that Smith's wife and Anthony, who starred in Hawthorne, were never intimate.
