Jessica Lange just revealed whether she will be returning for any future seasons of FX's American Horror Story.

Lange spoke with Charlie Rose recently about American Horror Story and much more, discussing whether a return to the show was in her future.

"No, I had four years with that, four seasons, and each year was a marvelous character," she said. "Everything changed from one year to another which made it very interesting to me. But no, I think sometimes you come to the end of something..."

Lange's comments clearly indicate that she has no intention of returning to American Horror Story, having left the series after Freak Show, the fourth season.

This news is probably disappointing to some fans, considering how integral Lange was to the show's success. Lange was a supporting player in season 1 but she played leading characters in Asylum, Coven and Freak Show, ultimately reaching a point where she was considered the show's main actress.

Of course, American Horror Story also helped Lange's career in many ways. The actress reached a level of culture awareness she hadn't received since her heyday in the '80s and early '90s. The actress won two Emmys for American Horror Story and is now nominated for a Tony for her performance as Mary Tyrone in the revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night.

Lange is considered the favorite to win the Tony, which would put her one step closer to achieving the coveted EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony), having previously won Oscars for Tootsie and Blue Sky.

Meanwhile, American Horror Story fans are eagerly anticipating the revelation of what season 6 will be about. Showrunner Ryan Murphy has been much more secretive than usual about the new concept, and only Angela Bassett has confirmed that she is returning for a main role. Murphy did say at PaleyFest that many of the show's repertory players were invited to come back, such as Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer and more, but did not officially confirm that they were going to be in the season.

American Horror Story season 6 premieres this fall on FX.
