Is there a chance that the Banshee storyline might continue in another format?

In a question and answer link on HBO Connect, executive producer Jonathan Tropper opened up on the former Cinemax series to answer questions from viewers. One of them asked Tropper if there were any plans to make either a sequel, prequel or spinoff to the show.

It appears there was a little chatter here and there so a spinoff is possible. Nothing is guaranteed, but it might be worth thinking about for a while.

"I think the only way any kind of spinoff or sequel would happen would be if I had a clear vision of a great new show featuring some of these characters, and I would have to pitch it to Cinemax like any other show," Tropper said.

Another fan asked about the love story between Lucas and Carrie; while it didn't work out in the way most people were probably hoping, Tropper was asked if he envisions them finding their happiness together.

"Lucas and Carrie will always love each other," the producer said. "But they have done too much damage to ever be together again as lovers. People they love have died, and they have a degree of responsibility for that. Carrie deceived her family for years. Lucas showed up and caused all sorts of mayhem. Siobhan is dead. Gordon is dead. They can't just say, 'Oh well, that's sad but pretty damn convenient,' and climb back into bed together."

Tropper also dished on that enticing end for Proctor. If anyone is confused, it turns out that he is very much dead.

"It was meant to be more like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," Tropper explained. "You know he gets killed, but we don't want to show it."
