The Battlefield 1 beta is coming pretty soon, and the full game is set to be released this coming October. With the game set during the First World War, game developer DICE's upcoming title is already building up to be one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2016. There is not denying that the hype for the game is indeed very real.

Indeed, the game has turned a lot of heads during the recently-concluded E3 2016, where DICE showcased the upcoming game's multiplayer mode. With innovative features and intricate, realistic battles, Battlefield 1 appeared to be equipped with DICE's best multiplayer system to date.

What really captured the attention of attendees during E3 was the fact that the multiplayer battles were detailed to an almost ridiculous degree. During the skirmishes in the demo, details such as craters from tank fire being used as cover were abundant. Even buildings tremble and crumble in the presence of massive machines of war.

Perhaps the factor that really impressed the audience, however, was the weather algorithms that DICE has programmed into the game. In Battlefield 1, the environment affects the terrain and is capable of completely changing the tide of the battle. Thus, even snipers who are perfectly positioned could easily be rendered useless by a good layer of fog.

Though the demo only showed the effects of fog during multiplayer matches, Battlefield fans are convinced that snow and possibly even sandstorms would play an even bigger role in the full version of the game.

Indeed, Battlefield 1's demo was a huge success for DICE, which has gone against convention by releasing a game that is based on real, past events. Notably, its main rival, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, has infamously gone the opposite direction, focusing on a future-centric approach instead, much to the chagrin of its fans.

If the E3 demo was any indication, however, Battlefield 1 seems to be a game that was crafted very carefully by its creators. As such, it would be equipped with a system that would be far more elaborate and detailed than before.
