Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am admitted to borrowing a beat from the Arty and Mat Zo song Rebound for his new song with Chris Brown.

During his interview with KIIS-FM this week, the artist/songwriter confessed that he sampled the beat for his own track Lets Go without getting permission.

Arty wrote on Twitter last week that Will.i.am did not clear the sample rights with his label, Anjunabeats. He tweeted on April 16, "They never cleared rights through Anjunabeats, who's only one label, who ownes the rights for 'Rebound.' "

Will.i.am remained silent on the subject until he revealed that he made an honest mistake.

"Arty is a dope producer so I wrote this song to 'Rebound' this last year," Will.i.am said on the radio show. "I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him, did a different version to it because I asked him [to] make it newer, because I don't just want to take your song and rap over it."

The "#ThatPower" singer also said he hopes he and Arty can put the issue Arty behind them.

"But in a year's time, time's gone by [and] we preferred writing over and using the [original] Rebound. Something happened and the clearance. . . hopefully, we resolved the issue," he said.

"I think he's great and the world needs to know about how talented those guys are. It's sad that it's turned into a fiasco but hopefully it's resolved because I'm a fan of those guys to the point where I wrote to their instrumental. We're fixing it now," Will.i.am said, according to TMZ.

Let's Go appears on Will.i.am's latest solo album #willpower, which was released this week. The album features 18 songs and includes collaborations with Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
