For the Night Shift team, their problems will only get worse before they get better.

The season 3 finale is almost upon us, and the NBC series will stoke the flames of anticipation with a two-part closer. "Emergent" (Aug. 24) will set the stage, but "Burned" (Aug. 31) will bring the stories to fruition, both at home and abroad.

Following the events of part 1, Syd (Jennifer Beals) and TC (Eoin Macken) will be busy dealing with a humanitarian crisis on the Syrian/Turkey boarder, Jordan (Jill Flint) and Scott (Scott Wolf) will be trapped in a raging inferno, Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Rick (Luke Macfarlane) will have their fingers crossed as they contemplate adopting a young cystic fibrosis patient, and Topher (Ken Leung) will have his hands full securing the future of the hospital.

"In the second half of this two-part season finale, Scott and Jordan must perform surgery in the field as the burning wildfire gains intensity around them," NBC teased. "Syd has caught Typhus along with hundreds of other patients on the Syria-Turkey border, and TC goes to great lengths to get the medication."

Back at the Night Shift's home base, "Drew and Rick fight to keep Brianna (guest star Kyla Kenedy), while San Antonio Memorial finds an unlikely buyer, though saving the hospital comes at a cost."

Can TC come through with the medicine, or will Syd become this year's casualty? Knowing the doc, he'll be ready to break any rules he comes across if it means quelling the latest disaster in the Middle East. Jordan and Scott, meanwhile, will need to put a lid on their personal problems if they wish to survive one of Texas' most capricious natural disasters.
