The return of Secrets and Lies is just under two weeks away, and as fans endure the final stretch of the show's long-awaited return, new information continues to be released about what they can expect as Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) takes on a new murder case and tries to catch a killer.

Those who watched the show's first season know about Detective Cornell, who they were introduced to as she tried to figure out whether ben Crawford (Ryan Phillippe) murdered his son, Tom, but a whole new mystery also means a whole new cast of characters. And while fans do know that the murder being investigated is that of Kate Warner (Jordana Brewster), what's unclear is which character may or may not have been the one to kill her.

Here are all the characters to keep an eye on in the new season as the mystery unfolds, as well as possible clues that could examine whether or not they may be a viable suspect:

Eric Warner (portrayed by Michael Ealy)

Kate's husband who discovers her body and becomes Cornell's prime suspect due to some dark secrets in his past. His wife's murder happens at a time where life should be going perfectly for him, as he prepares to not only enjoy married life with Kate, but take over as the head of his family's private equity firm. But his dark past could have surfaced in a way that led to him doing the unthinkable.

Kate Warner

Though her death is considered a murder, there is a slim possibility that at the end of the investigation, Cornell could find that Kate may have taken her own life. Why? According to a press release for the season premiere, she too had secrets she was keeping from her husband, and wasn't necessarily as perfect as he thought. If she wanted to make sure her secrets didn't get out, she could have worked to make sure they didn't.

Amanda Warner (portrayed by Mekia Cox)

Eric's sister who was close to Kate and is married to a prominent surgeon. She works as a criminal attorney in the Public Defender's office and is fiercely protective of Eric because she knows how Cornell works. However, if she tries to get too close to the case, it could set off alarm bells about why she's trying so hard to prove her brother's innocence.

Patrick Warner (portrayed by Charlie Barnett)

Eric's younger brother, he's a functioning alcoholic who has had to live in his brother's shadow his entire life. If his brother's success was bugging him, he may have sought revenge in the only way he could figure out.

John Warner (portrayed by Terry O'Quinn)

The patriarch of the family, John is known for his model of honesty and morality in business, and he hopes to have Eric continue that tradition. But after Kate's death puts his plans for retirement on hold, new secrets could come to the surface which prove things may not always have been as moral and honest as he wanted everyone to believe.

Melanie Warner (portrayed by AnnaLynne McCord)

Patrick's wife, she has never been fully accepted by her in-laws, and if Kate was welcomed much more openly by the family, jealousy and a desire to try and become closer could have driven her to do the unthinkable.

Danny (portrayed by Kenny Johnson)

Danny isn't a member of the Warner family, but he is still a person of interest who also becomes a suspect. His motives seem uncertain, but he's already been making a habit of doing things which make Eric's life more complicated, and if Kate stood in the way of whatever mission he was trying to accomplish overall, he may have eliminated her to ensure he gets to keep what he wants.

Secrets and Lies season 2 premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
