Although there hasn't been too much chatter as of late on the Downton Abbey front, actress Sophie McShera, who plays the part of Daisy, did take the opportunity recently to dish on her character's future.

While conducting an interview on This Morning (see video below), McShera revealed that Daisy has "got up on the world a bit" in the upcoming fourth installment. The actress elaborated that the character will be broadening her horizons by doing some more things she wasn't able to previously do.

In other recent Downton Abbey news, actress Helen Flanagan, whose best known for her work on Coronation Street, expressed interest in coming aboard the popular British-American drama, according to EntertainmentWise.

"I'd love to do something like Downton Abbey. I would love to try different things," she said.

Season 4 of the hit TV series will be severally affected by the departure of Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley), whose character was killed in a car accident at the close of the third season. The now widowed Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) will now have to move forward as a single mother to a newborn son.

The ITV network gave the following description on Lady Mary's character development pressing forward:

"In the next series, alongside the usual drama, comedy and romance involving the much loved cast of characters, viewers will see Mary adjusting to her life and attempting to move on without the man she loved."

Downton Abbey is set to premiere its fourth season in the United States on Jan. 5, 2014, according to The Huffington Post.
