Brad Pitt is reportedly trying to hang onto his relationship with his six kids as his divorce from Angelina Jolie continues.

Since filing for divorce in late September, Jolie has had physical custody of their kids (Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and 8-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne), with Pitt having occasional visits. This has apparently affected Pitt greatly, according to a new source via Woman's Day.

"The longer this goes on, the harder it is for Brad," a source told the publication, via Yahoo Australia. "He feels like his kids are slipping out of his grasp, and it's breaking his heart."

Pitt has reportedly reached out to various people in his life. "He spends all day and half the night calling and texting people, asking for help and advice."

As the proceedings go onward, Pitt is apparently focused on his children over his career in the entertainment world.

"What's happened has really hit home for Brad. He [realizes] his children are the most important things in his life," the source said. "He doesn't care about his career or anything else anymore - being with his kids is all that matters to him now."

As for what's to come for Pitt, Jolie and their six kids, it's possible that their entire arrangement will be settled out of court, according to one legal expert.

"If they settle out of court, then we may never know what they agreed on," legal expert Troy Slaten told E! News last week. "You don't have to have a custody dispute. You can get a divorce and not even bring up what's going to happen with the children if they agree. The court doesn't have to decide those things. If you're not fighting about it, there is nothing for the judge to decide. [He or she] will sign off on the final decree of divorce."
