Amber Rose is taking a social media break, as she revealed on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat this week.

Rose, who has amassed millions of followers through all her social media accounts, is set to take the rest of the year off from these sites. The model posted a new video Monday in which she says she won't personally be posting anything for the rest of the year.

"Hey guys, I just want to let everyone know that I'm taking the rest of the year off of social media," Rose said, with Snapchat's flower crown filter. "So I'll have Joe, my assistant, post some cool stuff for me and I'll see you in the new year."

 Happy Holidays

It's not entirely clear why Rose has decided to take a break from the social media sites. The star did compete in Dancing With the Stars this fall, finishing in ninth place, so she has been exposed to a more general audience as of late. The internet can always be a tricky place for celebrities, so it's possible she needs to take a break from some of the toxicity, or she may just want to break for the holiday season to be with loved ones.

"I'm not really good with a lot of attention. I probably shouldn't have done this show, but whatever," Rose admitted to E! News in October. "I'm just not good with a lot of eyes on me and a lot of 'Oh, you're doing great, everything's good...'"

Many popular female celebrities have taken breaks on social media as of late, including Kim Kardashian West. She stopped posting on her sites for a month as she recovered from her shocking Paris robbery, where two men made off with $10 million in jewelry. Meanwhile, Chrissy Tiegen did not delete her Twitter but she did make it private for an extended period of time.
