Sony doesn't want to be left behind in bringing the latest firmware update to its smartphones. As a matter of fact, the Japanese tech giant rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat to its Xperia X and Xperia X Compact devices bringing enhancements like intensified security and Vulkan UI.

According to University Herald, Sony has rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat firmware update for Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X Compact handsets. The said OS upgrade is now available across regions such Australia, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Upon updating to Android 7.0 Nougat the owners of the above-mentioned devices now moves with the build number to version 34.2.A.0.266. It can also be remembered that Sony is making Nougat accessible to other phones too, like Xperia XZ, XA Ultra, XA, X Performance, X, Z5, Z Compact, Z5 Premium, Z4 Tablet, and Z3+. Nevertheless, obtainability timings will differ depending on the model and region.

When it comes with the enhancements and improvements brought by Android 7.0 Nougat software, Mobile & Apps has reported some of it. The first in the list is the multi-window support feature. This enhancement will make the Xperia X and X Compact handsets run two apps simultaneously, and by double-tapping the device's screen users can switch between these apps.

The second one is the manual camera settings control with manual focus and shutter speed controls feature. This improvement is akin to the Sony's newer model the Xperia XZ. The said technology allows users to operate all camera settings, just like a DSLR in manual mode.

The Android 7.0 Nougat also brings better battery life for the device. The Japanese company also claims that they collaborated with Google to deliver this improvement. The Stamina mode and Doze-mode enhancements are also purportedly included in the update. After the Android 7.0 Nougat update on Xperia X series handsets, security patches are also expected to be released.

Lastly, the new Vulkan UI makes games look better than ever, as well as the all-in-one upgrade makes the update procedure easier by downloading the full update in the background.
