The Oklahoma City Thunder are doing just fine in their current campaign. Currently, they are at the 7th spot of the Western Conference standings holding a 21-14 win-loss record. But recent reports are suggesting that they should consider of boosting up their frontcourt as part of their push going to the playoffs and Greg Monroe could be the best available big man for them.

Monroe has been a regular name of rumor mills the past few months. From being a starter for the Milwaukee Bucks last season, team management and coach Jason Kidd decide to relegate him from the bench this season and since then his numbers went down. Though there is no word that they are shopping Monroe, having him on the bench signifies that he is already expendable to the team.

And up until now, Monroe is said to be available for a potential trade. According to Hoops Hype, a league executive has revealed that the Bucks are seriously thinking about trading center Greg Monroe. Part of their consideration is that there is a possibility that Monroe will opt out of his contract after the season, which part of his option, due to limited playing minutes given to him.

And with this notion, trading Monroe could be the best option for the Bucks as it will free big cap space on their paycheck and might get an able asset in return. Though there is no name of a team whom the Bucks are looking for as a trade partner, one report is saying that the Oklahoma City Thunder could be a potential one. Is Greg Monroe a better fit to their system?

According to Forbes, the Thunder badly need a support for Russell Westbrook on the offensive end and having Monroe could somehow give them an ample help for him. Monroe will surely shore up their frontcourt and could give the Thunder a defensive inside presence as well.

Monroe may also a perfect fit to Thunder coach Billy Donovan system of pick-and-roll offense having Westbrook as his partner on those sets. It will also give Westbrook and the Thunder another young player that will offer good offense and defense for their current campaign and maybe on their future.

Nevertheless, the rumored deal between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Milwaukee Bucks involving Greg Monroe is still speculation as of this moment as both teams have never released a statement about this. But surely this trade could be something to ponder upon on both teams as the trade deadline nears.
