The BMW i3 and Chevy Bolt continue to be vehicles of comparison, wherein both offer a slight advantage over the other. That being said, fans of both companies can gauge according to their preference, especially with the pros and cons slowly being laid out.

As some may know, both the BMW i3 and Chevy Bolt are from prestigious and world-renowned car makers, showing a rather appraisable style that makes them distinct from others in the area. While both models are known for being electric, each one has their share of plus-factors-one being the price.

According to a BMW blog, the Chevy Bolt's Base MSRP or manufacturer's suggest retail price is at $37,495, and with the Federal Tax credit put into account, lands less than $30,000. On the other hand, the Base MSRP of the BMW i3 is at $43,395 for the 22 kWh version, and for a slightly more expensive $44,595, the 33 kWh version. It is worth noting that the shipping charges are included as well as MSRP as well.

Comparatively, the BMW i3 dons a 22kWh battery pack standard, along with a 33 kWh variant-both carrying 96 cells. However, it is apparent that the 33 kWh pack contains more energy dense cells, with 94Ah against the usual 60Ah take. The Chevy Bolt is rigged with a noticeably bigger 60kWh battery pack with a whopping 288 cells, rated at 238 mile range care of the EPA. Design-wise, both cars carry the same five-door hatchback design, with foldable rear seats. In this field, the Chevy Bolt's storage outmatches the BMW i3.

Both vehicles carry their battery packs on the bottom of their models. Another advantage, however, is that the Chevy Bolt carries extra cells under the back seat as well. The BMW i3 is a rear-wheel driving model, and of course, the Chevy Bolt drives front-wheel, as Green Car Reports stated. Lastly, in cold weather, the BMW i3 utilizes a heat pump to provide cabin heat, whereas the Chevy Bolt is heated almost all over-from the steering wheel, front and rear seats. The BMW i3 only has heated front seats, and the steering wheel does not.
