Courteney Cox and David Arquette's divorce was finalized by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Tuesday, May 28, according to TMZ.

Cox, 48, and Arquette, 41, announced their separation in October 2010 after 11 years of marriage. They filed divorce papers citing "irreconcilable differences" on the same day in June 2012, which would have been their 13th wedding anniversary.

The former spouses are parents to their eight-year-old daughter, Coco, and asked for joint physical and legal custody. The Cougar Town actress also asked the court to legally remove her husband's surname.

The couple had previously told the media they would remain friends after the split and vowed to work together to raise their daughter. The two have remained on good terms since they announced they were calling it quits.

During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January, the actress said of Arquette, "He's my best friend in the world. I love."

Cox also told DeGeneres that they appreciated one another.

After splitting from Cox, Arquette began dating Entertainment Tonight reporter Christina McLarty in September 2011. The couple briefly split in March 2012, but rekindled their romance shortly after. Cox has started dating again. She told The Howard Stern Show in February 2012 that, at the time, she was not ready yet.

"Our relationship is probably better than it would be if we lived together," Cox told Howard Stern on his Sirius-XM radio show in 2011. "It's definitely better than it used to be. We communicate better, we have much more respect for each other, we listen. It's hard."

Arquette has also continued to work with Cox as an executive producer on Cougar Town, which moves from ABC to TBS on Jan. 8. He also guest starred as a hotel concierge in the third season finale.
