"Jessica Jones" Season 2, Marvel and Netflix's sixth or seventh entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is still far from its expected premiere date. But despite this, fans are still excited to know the details of the show's next season.

Some of the information that fans are eager to know in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 include: the storyline, cast and more importantly, the release date. Den of Geek reported that the second season isn't set to be out at least until after "The Defenders."

The mini-series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix later in 2017, which makes the release of "Jessica Jones" Season 2 land sometime later in 2018. This premiere time frame is just a pure estimation, though, and it is in no way official.

As for the story, there are speculations suggesting that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) might come back in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. The reason why fans think he is likely to return next season is because of the relationship he had with Jessica (Krysten Ritter).

The love interest, however, had to be cut short in the later part of "Jessica Jones" Season 1. Jessica, being taken over by guilt, admitted to Cage that she was the one responsible for his wife's death, as reported on Mic. The two reconciled after Cage experienced what's it like to be under Kilgrave's (David Tennant) power.

Unfortunately, it seems like there is a good chance that this speculation won't happen in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. Showrunner, Melissa Rosenberg, seemingly hinted out on her talk with The Hollywood Reporter that Colter may not appear in the second season as a regular.

No official reports have come out yet coming from Marvel or Netflix about who will appear in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. And at this point, it would be best for the fans to take these speculations with a tiny pinch of salt. More news about the matter should emerge after "The Defenders."
