After a decade at Dunder Mifflin, John Krasinski finds it hard to leave the Office behind but believes the series finale did the show justice.

"It was so thrilling. We all just flat-out lied," Krasinski said of keeping Steve Carell's finale appearance a secret, according to People. ""I lied to Letterman! I have to apologize to him for that at some point. It was just one of those things that we all vowed and had to protect."

An era of "that's what she said" jokes came to a close on May 16. However, ten years on the show has greatly affected the young actor.

"The Office has given me everything," Krasinski told People, explaining how he joined the show when he as only 23 years old. "A decade of my life! Not only has it given me every opportunity in the business, but I wouldn't have met [my wife] Emily. In a very big, existential way it's the most important thing in my life."

While Krasinski recently had a small part in the Arrested Development revival, he is now spending sometime off camera. Along with Matt Damon, Krasinski co-wrote Promised Land and voiced character in the new animated feature Monsters University.

"[There are now] so many different avenues you can go down, whether it is TV, film or now there's Internet content. There's all sorts of fun stuff to be part of," Krasinski said, according to The Associated Press. "When you get to have control over what you do and who you are doing it with, it makes it the most fun, so I'll just keep doing that."

Currently you can see Krasinski in Arrested Development on Netflix and Monsters University will hit theaters on June 21.
