Lindsey Vonn is not letting the online naysayers get the best of her when it comes to her relationship with Tiger Woods, according to a recent interview with The New York Times.

The 28-year-old Olympic skier who divorced her husband and former coach Thomas Vonn in 2011, told the publication last week that her divorce has taught her to find her own happiness.

Since announcing her relationship with Woods on social media, Vonn said she's received a lot of backlash on Facebook from dating the famous golf player.

"I'm not an idiot; I try not to look, but I see what people say about me on Facebook," Vonn said.

"I see other things written. But I don't care. I learned a while ago from my divorce that my happiness is the most important thing. That's all I can control. And right now, I'm happy."

Vonn even compared their relationship to one between a husband and wife in the newspaper.

"We talk golf after his golf rounds, but mostly I listen. We really are normal in that way," she said. "Lots of people go home and talk to their wife or husband about their job. That's what we do."

The athlete, who tore her anterior-cruciate and her medial-collateral knee ligaments, after a race the Alpine Ski World Championships early this year, said she and Woods have a lot in common.

"He's had A.C.L. surgery, so right now I talk about my rehab," she said. "He knows what I'm going through. The guy won a U.S. Open without an A.C.L."

Vonn even hinted to marriage by comparing their relationship to one between a husband and wife.

"We talk golf after his golf rounds, but mostly I listen. We really are normal in that way," she said. "Lots of people go home and talk to their wife or husband about their job. That's what we do."
