As fans eagerly await Drop Dead Diva's second episode from Season 5, producers have leaked a page from the upcoming episode's script.

In the second episode, Jane (Brooke Elliott) finds herself working side-by-side with "Old Jane", who's now in the body of a hot model named Brittney (Natalie Hall). Together they race the clock to defend a former client of Old Jane's who's on death row for killing a former classmate. Grayson (Jackson Hurst) and a pregnant Kim (Kate Levering) take on the case of mild mannered father and mattress salesman, Cyd Pinar (Lee Tergesen), who believes he was wrongfully terminated for dressing like a drag queen. Kim struggles with Parker's absence. [See the script above.]

During the season 5 premiere episode, Back From the Dead, viewers learned Old Jane has returned and says she wants her life back.

"We explain what she means in the very top of the next episode. 502 starts about five hours after the end of 501, and we quickly understand exactly why Old Jane came back--and it's not the reasons you think she's back," creator Josh Berman told Entertainment Weekly, adding the character will be in multiple episodes.

"Natalie Hall seemed to completely understand the notion of an introverted lawyer brainiac stuck in a gorgeous skinny model's body. So when she walked in for her audition, she was so cute and so on point with who she was--not playing into her sexuality, but trying to play into her brain--that she just nailed it," he said.

Meanwhile, New Jane is caught in a love triangle, hoping to win back Owen--even though Grayson says he loves her. It seems Grayson will keep pursuing New Jane.

"It is time to turn over some cards, and we are going to push Jane's love life further, and it will have repercussions for both Grayson and Owen," Berman said.

The show will see many changes this season with Josh Stamberg leaving his role as Jay Parker, a law firm managing partner. Aside from cast shakeups, the Josh Berman series had to undergo budget cuts in order to keep the show alive since Drop Dead Diva was canceled and quickly uncanceled earlier this year.

"Lifetime's decision to cancel Diva was a business one, with network sources stressing at the time that they were open to reconsidering if Sony TV came up with a new financial model," Deadline reported in March.
