If you've ever been annoyed by a automated voice systems, your problems are probably minimal compared to those of Matt Damon in Elysium.

A new clip from the Neil Blomkamp film elaborates on a scene glimpsed in many of the previous trailers. Max (Damon) lives on a future version of earth. Overpopulated and dirty, Earth is the lower-class accommodations of the prospective society. Meanwhile, far above the workingman's head, the more economically well endowed of the human race reside on a space station with access to the latest technology and medical advancements.

In the recently released clip, viewers are introduced to Max as he tries to resolve a transgression. In a loud, over-crowded waiting room, Damon's character attempts to talk to a graffiti-covered, automated attendant who pays little attention to Max's story and defiantly does not react well to sarcasm.

The scene paints a dark picture of what earth is like in Elysium. However, Max will get his chance to take on the class disparities once he gets his hands on an exosuit. With a plan to reach Elysium in order to eradicate his cancer and help an ailing friend, Damon's character uses his new-found strength to fight his way to the utopia.

Elysium enters theaters on Aug. 9.
