Lily James has been getting a lot of praises from critics and fans for her performance in the series "Pam & Tommy," in which she portrayed the controversial star, Pamela Anderson. However, despite being applauded by the public, the actress initially thought she didn't think she could give the actress justice for the role.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the 32-year-old star noted that she was ready for a "transformational role" when the character was first offered to her, but she felt pressured to give Anderson Justice.

"Pam & Tommy" revolves around the model and ex-husband Tommy Lee's infamous sex tape scandal sold on the internet.

"I felt the pressure of trying to do justice to this woman." the actress said. (via Daily Mail UK)

The reason behind it is that she thought what happened to Anderson was "unprecedented and so wrong."

Regarding the Hulu series' storyline, James believes the sex tape scandal had a significant impact on what's happening within the media culture in the present, saying the public has no idea what happened to the former couple.

"Within that, the bigger themes of privacy and sexism and exploitation into the birth of the internet," she added.

How Did Lily James Transform Into Pamela Anderson?

James underwent three hours of makeup to mimic Pamela Anderson to give justice to her character. She wore a blonde wig, prosthetics, blue contact lenses, fake tattoos, and many more.

The actress also wore 34DD breasts, which were glued to her chest and airbrushed for a more detailed look.

In addition, James also studied Anderson's mannerisms by watching many of her interviews, reading her six books, and many more.

To achieve the "Baywatch" star's physique, James underwent training in the gym for half a year to develop Anderson's muscle tones.

In a previous interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the Surrey-native revealed that she was so dedicated to her role to the point that she refused to break character and drop the Canadian-Californian accent even when speaking to her family.

"I would Facetime them as Pamela. Talk to them as Pamela," she said.

On the other hand, Sebastian Stan plays the role of Tommy Lee. The actor also underwent hours of makeup whenever they shot as the production had to replicate each of the "Motely Crue's" tattoos.
