The creator of Money Heist will be continuing on with Netflix as he has just penned a new deal with the streaming giant.

Alex Pina the creator of the phenom series Money Heist is looking at an extended relationship with Netflix. He has just inked an extended deal with the streaming service. He already has a new series lined up and ready to go. This new, sure to be a smash-hit series is based off of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, Pina took inspiration from the new series from rich Spaniards he noticed buying bunkers during the height of the pandemic. He reflected:

"Some of the new shelters that were being built were luxury homes in the subsoil...Up to 15 floors down, with exclusive services, such as cinema, pool, spa, gym and common gardens, with water and food to survive more than five years. An underground community for 75 people. And then we thought about what life would be like there. Social, family and romantic relationships, in an underground shelter to which they had hastily and exclusively fled."

This new series comes off of the massive success of Money Heist. Prior to the epic overturn that was Squid Game, Money Heist was, for a time, the most watched non-English-Language drama on Netflix. The captivating story followed a group of bank robbers as the police try to hunt them down. It grabbed the attention of 180 million households around the world.

We can't wait to see what creative direction Pina takes this soundingly epic new series in.
