Doctor Strange had his heart broken in several universes in the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse" because of Christine Palmer.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe fans surely know the history Doctor Strange and Christine Palmer share. While they had a relationship in the past, they broke up due to the superhero's egotistic personality.

In the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse," Doctor Strange faced the most heartbreaking part yet despite being in love with her.

As he confessed that he loves her in every universe, the superhero seemingly found a new love interest instead at the end of the movie.

Who is Clea?

[SPOILER ALERT!]

Those who have watched the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse" already and waited until the post-credits scene surely saw Charlize Theron's Clea arriving to take Doctor Strange to the dark dimension.

Initially, no one confirmed that the actress would take on the sorcerer's role. But she herself shared photos saying that she officially became MCU's Clea.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the film's screenwriter Michael Waldron said they cast Charlize before coming up with the ending.

"I think we cast Charlize before we even knew exactly what we were going to do. Then we settled on our ending of the third eye opening, the bill coming due for Strange, and you get your Sleepaway Camp-esque ending-the oh-my-God ending," he said.

After losing Christine Palmer for good, Doctor Strange meets his new love interest just like how he did in the comics.

With Charlize's arrival in the MCU, fans now expect that a new romance will soon bloom in the franchise's next phases.

Waldron described Clea as Doctor Strange's sole counterpart in the comics and the superhero's great love. Christine Palmer's wedding in the new film concluded her story with the superhero, and it perfectly started his new journey with Clea.

Aside from Clea, the MCU fans have been spoiled with the special appearance of the Illuminati. Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Reed Richards (John Krasinski), Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) also hyped the fans even more.

It remains unknown what the next events would be all about. But since America Chavez is now part of the MCU, fans can expect to see more of the multiversal antics.
