Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not want to cross the line again during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebration.

While Meghan and Prince Harry expressed their desire to become part of the Queen's most special milestone, the couple reportedly made it clear that they never wanted to appear on the balcony during the Platinum Jubilee.

Royal expert and biographer Omid Scobie first confirmed the news, saying that the Sussexes would not appear on the balcony following the Trooping the Colour alongside senior members of the royal family.

The 96-year-old monarch also said that only working members of the monarchy could join her.

"As is often the case, the reality is much less severe when you hear that Prince Harry had already spoken with his grandmother about the possibility of not attending Trooping the Colour long before last week's announcements," he said.

A source purportedly told him that Prince Harry expressed that he and his wife wanted to be part of the Jubilee engagements, except for the balcony moment. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt that it is more appropriate not to join the Queen on the balcony after stepping back from their royal posts.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Think Appearing on Balcony Is NOT What Matters

Scobie's comments are similar to what royal commentator Loni Love told Marie Claire.

She revealed to the magazine that the Duke and Duchess also did not ask to be on the balcony.

"I think this is more about Prince Andrew and making sure he's not on it than Harry and Meghan. They just added Harry and Meghan so it wouldn't look [like] they snubbed Andrew," she said.

Queen Elizabeth II will be accompanied on the balcony after Trooping the Colour by 17 other family members instead. The list includes Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Princess Louis, Prince Edward, Sophie, Louise, James, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra.

Prince Andrew's daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will not also appear on the balcony.

Although Prince Harry and Meghan will not join the highlight, multiple news outlets confirmed that the couple would bring their children - Archie and Lilibet - to the UK for the event.

Previously, Prince Harry told "Today" show that there were a lot of issues that were keeping them away from returning to the UK, including security issues.
