COVID has been the bane of our existence for over two years now, and shows no sign of stopping. This has been especially true for Jane's Addiction's lead guitarist Dave Navarro, who is opening up about his long-lasting bout with COVID which he has been battling since December.

The 54-year-old has been trying to kick the symptoms of the dreaded virus since December. He has tested negative since then, but getting back to normalcy has been a serious struggle, which he went into detail about in an Instagram post that he has since deleted.

As reported by NME, Navarro said:

"So yeah, I'm one of the ones who came down with the 'long haul covid. Been sick since December and supposedly will be back to my old self in... nobody knows how long."

He continued,

"If there are any of you who are still suffering long after your negative results, I'm just saying you aren't alone. The fatigue and isolation is pretty awful, but try to spend your time with the ones you love and stay creative. That's how I'm trying to get through this thing. Also lots of spiritual practices, meditation and yoga have been very helpful.

"I'll be OK, just don't know when. Love and laughter are wonderful antidotes for a sickness that you really can't track.

"Anyway, thanks for listening and don't worry about me. All indicators are pointing to a full recovery at some point!"

As someone who has personally had a recent tussle with COVID, I can say from experience that this is a frustrating and awful ordeal to go through. Even now, over a week since being diagnosed, every once and a while the need to want to go out and be normal comes with the quick realization of just how hard COVID hits you. It's like the flu, but with way more fatigue and depression from not being yourself for days to weeks on end.

All I can ask is please get vaccinated, and boosted. Wear a mask, and wash your hands. These seem like such minor steps, but believe me, they make all the difference in trying to get this long, international nightmare under control.

Be safe out there - and we wish Dave a quick recovery.
