Actor Mickey Rourke had a lot to say about Tom Cruise when he appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Monday.

Morgan asked Rourke about his feelings when he sees actors like Tom Cruise making $1 Billion at the box office with Top Gun: Maverick, and he was quick to downplay Cruise for being one-note:

"That doesn't mean s--- to me. The guy's been doing the same f'ing part for 35 years, you know? I got no respect for that. Really, brother. I don't care about money and power.

"I care about when I watch Al Pacino working, Chris Walken, [Robert] De Niro's early work, Richard Harris' work, Ray Winstone's work - that's the kind of actor I want to be, like Monty Clift, [Marlon] Brando back in the day. A lot of guys that just tried to stretch as actors."

He even went as far as saying,

"I think he's irrelevant, in my world."

Strong words from an actor who has not been truly relevant since his 2008 Oscar nominated performance in The Wrestler.

To be fair, Cruise has made a powerful career doing very similar characters, like his role as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible franchise - but he also puts in the work. From stunts to production, say what you want, the man knows his job and how to put butts in seats. He cares about every aspect of his productions, and follows a very successful playbook to give audiences what they want.

Honestly, this vitriolic attack by Mickey Rourke sounds like nothing more than sour grapes by an actor who is still trying to make another comeback.
