Jane Lynch has come out in support of Lea Michele's casting in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl.

There has been a lot of drama surrounding the recent announcement that Glee alum Lea Michele will be joining the cast of the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. She will be taking over the part from Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein. The drama surrounding this show is something that only a show has historic as Funny Girl could generate. If you're not up to date, catch yourself up on the full story here.

Caught up? Great.

Lea Michele will not be the first Glee alum to step into the show. Jane Lynch is currently playing Mrs. Brice in the revival. She, however, will be leaving at the same time that Feldstein makes her departure from the show, and she will be replaced by Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Tovah Feldshuh. Some fans have speculated that this has something to do with her avoidance of her former castmate, but a recent quote from the Sue Sylvester actor confirms this is not the case.

In fact, she wishes Michele well in her upcoming run of the show.

Lynch shared with Deadline:

"We have been in touch about it...You know, it was just a really strong idea to have Feldshuh and Lea premiere together. That's the only reason [we won't appear together.] I adore her. She's just going to take this show and make it her own. I'm so glad she's getting the opportunity in real life to do the show and not just on Glee."

And that's what you missed on Glee!
