Andrew Garfield has been announced to lead a new limited series titled Hot Air.

It's Andrew Garfield's world, and we are all just living in it. The actor who found his claim to fame as the ever iconic Spider-Man has recently enjoyed an epic and well-deserved skyrocket in his career.

In the past year, he has been seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tick, Tick...Boom, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Under the Banner of Heaven. His performance in Under the Banner of Heaven also led the actor to his first ever Emmy Award nomination.

Now, it has been announced that Garfield will be hitting the screen once again.

According to an exclusive on Deadline, Andrew Garfield will be starring in a new limited series Hot Air, based on the book Dirty Tricks. This book, written by Martyn Gregory, tells the story of Richard Branson, the British entrepreneur that founded Virgin Airlines.

It is a fascinating, competitive, and ferocious story. The Deadline exclusive briefly summarized his life and career, writing:

"Branson launched Virgin Atlantic in 1984 with one leased airplane. By 1990, the company started to threaten British Airways' dominance in the UK market after getting landing slots at London Heathrow Airport.

"In response, BA launched a "dirty tricks" campaign, with its staffers using passenger records and impersonating Virgin employees to try to gain inside information on the upstart competitor, and persuade Virgin customers to switch to BA.

"Tipped off by a BA insider, Branson complained to the European Commission about BA's tactics. In response, BA created 'Operation Barbara,'  planting fabricated negative media stories about Virgin Atlantic"

"Branson sued, and the high-profile case was settled on the eve of the trial, with BA apologizing and paying Virgin's legal costs plus damages.

"Branson continued to grow the airline, one of dozens of business in his portfolio. In 1999, he sold a 49% stake to Singapore Airlines on over GBP1.2 billion valuation."

Garfield will be taking on the role of Branson. We are excited for him to take on this nuanced and challenging part.
