Joe Rogan has been through many controversies over the past year due to his comments on COVID-19 and vaccines. Today, it appears that another issue has risen as he's being criticized for his opinions on homelessness in California.

According to People Magazine "Oh, a homeless person's property is protected?", the commentator uploaded an episode of his controversial podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," last week where he invited Tom Segura as a special guest.

The two talked about how the personal items of the homeless people around Los Angeles are "protected property."

They were referring to a decision that was made wherein the government isn't allowed to seize any belongings from people on the streets despite them staying in public areas.

"Oh, a homeless person's property is protected?" the podcaster reacted.

Rogan then appeared to have compared the situation with LA's response to violent crime, saying the government would act if anybody tried to remove a homeless person's belongings/property, they "wouldn't arrest you if you shot somebody."

The UFC color commentator then said "Maybe you should just go shoot the homeless people," to which Segura replied, "I like your ideas."

Following his shocking comments, many online users and advocates reacted to the situation and called him out for expressing his opinion.

Advocate Theo Henderson spoke to Variety, saying the issue is "repulsive" and "infuriating" because the reality is that people living on the streets are being targeted by privileged people who have properties or a proper place to stay at.

"To advocate trying to shoot at unhoused people or just giving these dog whistles to people that do not see unhoused people as human beings - I can't believe you'd advocate for it," he added.

As of this writing, Joe Rogan has not publicly commented on the backlash he received. Spotify has also not released any statements about the matter.

Joe Rogan has been a center of an issue for his comments on the show as he previously had controversial comments regarding COVID-19 and vaccines.

Over the past few months, many musicians turned their backs and pulled out their music catalog from Spotify, claiming they can't share the same platform with Rogan because of his claims.

Spotify has responded to the incident, leading them to put disclaimers on podcast episodes that tackles the topic of COVID-19.
