Brad Pitt is upset about his current relationship with Maddox, his son with Angelina Jolie.

Pitt and Jolie recently showed an improving connection as they reached a peaceful time when they met in Rome recently. Despite visiting his children as often as possible, it seems like their son, Maddox, does not fall for his father's tactics.

A source recently told In Touch that the "Bullet Train" star is super upset that he is yet to reconcile and establish a positive relationship with his eldest son. In fact, he sent him a gift for his 21st birthday but never heard something back.

"When Maddox was younger, they had such a special connection. Brad and Maddox not only bonded on a loving father-son level but also intellectually. "Brad really misses Maddox and was really hoping to repair their relationship, but he has hit a wall," the source went on.

Pitt is said to be missing Maddox so much as he hopes to fix their relationship.

Maddox, who was originally named Rath Vibol, was born on August 5, 2001. The actress adopted him on March 10, 2002 when she visited Cambodia to learn more about refugees.

"In 2001, I was in a school program in Samlout playing blocks on the floor with a little kid and as clear as day I thought: 'My son is here,'" Jolie recalled. "A few months later I met baby Mad at an orphanage. I can't explain it and am not one to believe in messages or superstition. But it was just real and clear."

Though the actress was married to Billy Bob Thornton at that time, she chose to declare herself as Maddox's only parent.

Maddox Does Not Completely Hate Brad Pitt

Pitt and Maddox had an infamous fight during their flight home from France years ago.

At that time, a news outlet confirmed that the "Ad Astra" star was reported to the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services as he reportedly attacked his son while he was drunk.

However, his representatives insisted that he did not hit his son during the incident. A video of the incident later surfaced, but it did not show any violence and proved Pitt's yelling instead.

Still, Maddox does not reportedly hate his father completely.

"He doesn't completely hate Brad, but he told the truth in the deposition he gave. He's happy that his dad got help and is sober now," a source told US Weekly.s
