Alec Baldwin is hopeful that the truth will be revealed soon.

While the FBI continues its investigation after the initial findings, Baldwin also made a big move by hiring a private investigator to look into what happened on the "Rust" set. This caused him to believe that he nor anyone else would be charged in the shooting incident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

In a new interview with CNN, Baldwin claimed no responsibility for Hutchins' death and said that he believes the authorities would soon determine that it was an accident.

"That private investigator, as you probably know, did not have a difficult time accessing the staff of the Sheriff's Department, and that person told us, quote-unquote, 'We've known in the department since January that Alec would not be charged with a crime,'" he said, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Baldwin also reiterated that armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed and assistant director Dave Halls would not be charged.

His new interview came after he told Chris Cuomo on his podcast "The Chris Cuomo Project" that he did not pull the trigger. He said that the only issue the law enforcement should look into is to find out who put a live round in it.

During his previous statement, he explained that if the hammer did not lock but someone totally pulled it back, the gun would fire the bullet even without pulling the trigger.

However, the FBI forensic report said that the .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver used in the shooting would need to be pulled before it could fire a bullet.

Alec Baldwin Is Not Criminally Accountable, A Lawyer Said

A lawyer recently gave his thoughts about the legal proceedings that might occur, saying that the actor is not criminally accountable.

The 83-year-old lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, included in his new book, "The Price of Principle: Why Integrity Is Worth the Consequences," said that, while Baldwin cannot be criminally charged, he might be civilly liable for her death instead.

"Yes, he had responsibilities as the last actor handling the gun and as one of the producers who oversee the entire enterprise. That may be enough for civil liability, but it will be difficult to prove criminal negligence," he went on.

Dershowitz explained that the authorities would find it hard to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Baldwin is guilty of killing Hutchins since he was told that the gun was cold.
