While K-Pop idols Jennie of BLACKPINK and V of BTS, as well as their agencies, never confirmed the rumors linking them romantically, music industry sources reported Wednesday that the two allegedly broke up recently.

According to a JTBC report, the rumored couple allegedly broke up just days before V would go on to enlist in the military, per Yonhap News Agency

Other media outlets also reported the alleged breakup of Jennie and V, including Allkpop and The Korea Herald.

In BigHit Music's latest notice, the label confirmed that BTS' V, as well as his bandmates Jimin, Jungkook and RM, will enlist soon in the military and requested fans to refrain from visiting the entrance ceremony site.

V is reported to enlist with RM at a recruit training center on Monday, per Star News Korea. However, BigHit Music has issued a statement saying it could not confirm the members' exact enlistment dates and assignments.

Jennie and V's rumored relationship started in December 2021 when V accidentally followed Jennie's account on Instagram, which he also unfollowed shortly after.

Then in May 2022, the two were allegedly seen spending time in Jeju Island together. This was followed by alleged images of the two shared by a certain "gurumiharibo" taken in V's apartment.

A year after, in May, the two went viral when French photographer Amar Taoualit allegedly snapped V and Jennie holding hands while walking in Paris. V was in Paris at the time as a brand ambassador for Céline, while Jennie was in the City of Lights to promote her show "The Idol" at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Despite the rumors linking the two idols romantically, their agencies, YG Entertainment and BigHit Music only said they had nothing to say regarding the matter.

In other news, BLACKPINK's Jennie and her bandmates Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé recently renewed their group contract with their longtime label, YG Entertainment.

On Wednesday, YG Entertainment announced, "We have successfully reached an agreement within our board of directors regarding the signing of our exclusive group contracts for all four members of BLACKPINK, our esteemed artists."

However, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé's individual contracts are still being discussed, per Korea JoongAng Daily. This means that there are possibilities that the members would sign with other agencies for their solo activities but continue their group activities as BLACKPINK under their exclusive group contract with YG Entertainment.
