Cameron Diaz broke her silence for the first time about the long-standing rumor that Jamie Foxx caused her to quit acting for the second time.

Diaz appeared on Molly Sims' "Lipstick on the Rim" podcast on Tuesday. During her guest appearance, the "Charlie's Angels" actress addressed the rumor that Foxx was mean to her on the set of their reunion movie "Back in Action."

"I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time," Diaz said. "You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, 'What are you talking about?'"

She defended Foxx from the allegation of him being allegedly mean to her by denying it. Cameron also praised the "Django Unchained" star for his talent, noting that he is a "special person."

"Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He's such a special person, and he's so talented, so much fun," she added. "The hiccups that happened throughout production are the natural kinds of things that happen. But nothing got delayed other than, obviously, toward the end. And that's something that is not my place to speak about."

Diaz was also impressed by how Foxx managed the issue. According to her, he remained "so classy" by not paying attention to those people. However, the "Bad Teacher" star admitted that the rumor made her furious.

"He's like, 'Nope. Just let them [talk].' Still, it just really made me angry," Diaz added.

"Back in Action" is directed by Seth Gordon and co-written with Brendan O'Brien. It stars Diaz, Foxx, Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson. It serves as Diaz's return to acting after being on hiatus for years. She last appeared on the big screen in "Annie," which was released in 2014.

In 2017, she talked about her career break during Goop's Wellness Summit in Culver City, California. The "Sex Tape" actress admitted that she felt the need to take a break from acting because she wanted to make herself "whole."

"I just went, 'I can't really say who I am to myself.' Which is a hard thing to face up to," Diaz explained, Entertainment Tonight reported. "I felt the need to make myself whole."

Diaz married her husband, Benji Madden, on Jan. 5, 2015, after a year of dating. They welcomed their daughter Raddix in December 2019.

"Back in Action" is expected to be released on Netflix in 2024.
