Ncuti Gatwa will have a new companion in the 15th season of the sci-fi series "Doctor Who."

According to Variety, Millie Gibson, who played the role of Ruby Sunday, will no longer be "Doctor Who's" companion in the show's next season. She will be replaced by Indian-born British actress Varada Sethu.

Per Mirror, Gibson, who just made her "Doctor Who" debut last December, will no longer appear in "Doctor Who's" Christmas special later this 2024.

Before the announcement of showrunner Russell T. Davies' decision to write out the former "Coronation Street" actress from the series, the teen actress reportedly filmed for three more months before December last year and has now almost finished. She will only be back "to tie up loose ends" in the coming weeks, per Mirror's insiders.

The eight episodes she already filmed for the 14th season will start airing in May on the BBC in the U.K. and Disney+ internationally. She will also reportedly make a handful of appearances across Gatwa's second series as the Doctor in 2025 to wrap up Ruby's journey with the Doctor.

Gibson previously described landing the role of Ruby as "a dream come true" and her co-star Gatwa as "fabulous."

Meanwhile, the show's 15th season is currently filming at the studios in Cardiff, Wales, with Sethu as "Doctor Who's" new companion.

Sethu is known for her films "Jurassic World Dominion" and "Now You See Me 2." She also previously appeared in several TV series such as "Andor," "Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned" and "Mrs Sidhu Investigates."

In related news, the Rwandan-Scottish actor who portrays the 15th incarnation of the Doctor on "Doctor Who" took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of him with Millie over the weekend, when the actress' replacement was not confirmed yet.

He captioned his Story, "My lil," with a Gemini and red heart emoji.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old star seemed to be taking a break in Costa Rica, per her latest Instagram Stories.

One of her Stories featured a photo of her in a bikini as she stood by a waterfall. Her other posts showed a closer view of the waterfalls, a hanging bridge and Japanese food.
