Martha Stewart Reveals She Doesn't Wear Underwear, Only Swimsuits Under Clothes: Here's Why

Martha Stewart is not a fan of underwear.

While speaking to Page Six at the Old Bags Luncheon in Florida, the lifestyle mogul revealed that she prefers to wear swimsuits under her clothes instead of lace underwear.

According to Stewart, she wants to make sure she's always ready for a swim wherever she goes.

"I like bathing suits. I like wearing bathing suits under my clothes just in case I want to go swimming," Stewart shared.

She continued, "Bathing suits are my underwear. I don't wear any of that structured stuff. No tight lace, no Skims for Martha."

While she doesn't use Kim Kardashian's popular line of shapewear, Stewart said she likes them and thinks they benefit a lot of people.

"I love Skims. I think they serve a very good purpose -- but I don't wear those. I only wear Aerie bathing suits under my clothes," she insisted.

As for whether Kardashian may take issue with her thoughts on wearing Skims, Stewart told Page Six, "No, she won't be mad at me. She knows I don't wear Skims."

Last summer, Stewart rocked a white one-piece suit when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2023 issue.

She became the oldest person to ever land a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover at 81.

While the cover received a largely positive response, Stewart also faced accusations of airbrushing -- which she denied.

"There are only a few naysayers saying, 'The pictures are over-retouched,'" she told Variety in May 2023. "But they're not. They are incredibly accurate pictures. I was really pleased that there was not much airbrushing."

The lifestyle icon also shut down rumors that she's gotten plastic surgery or Botox.

"I've had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever," she insisted. "Every now and then, there are certain fillers that I can do for a little line here or there, but I hate Botox. It's a weird thing for me. I really and truly don't do a lot."

In recent years, Stewart has posted several thirst traps on social media, including a pool photo that went viral in the summer of 2020.

In the snap, she rocked a black bathing suit and frosty makeup as she gazed sultrily into the camera.

In December, Stewart also shared a mirror selfie in which she sported a nightgown that revealed some cleavage.

"After an eight-hour plane trip from westchester to palm beach- horrible by the way -- we went to bed early and wore my beautiful @sabbiarosa nightgown (linen with robe). I didn't look so bad when I got up at least not as bad as I did when I went to bed -- it must be the $$outfit!!" she wrote alongside the snap.

The photo received numerous positive responses from celebrity pals and followers, with Ellen Pompeo writing: "Smoke Show!!"

Another follower commented: "Thirst Trap Martha is my favorite Martha."
