The stakes appear to be on the uprise for David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) next week on Coronation Street. While under Tina's watch, he reportedly comes clean that he was behind Nick's accident.

According to Radio Times, Tina is freaked out by the reveal and plans to inform Gail about everything, as David must attempt to keep her mum.

Shepherd recently spoke to the site about what's at stake for his character, and what his true intentions were.

"I don't think David had an endpoint in mind, as such, but he wasn't satisfied with the level of ruin he'd gone to running up to the crash. David wasn't necessarily intending to kill Nick, but he certainly wanted to stop Nick and stio the van and the only way to do that was by putting Nick's life in danger. At the end of the day, David can't forgive Nick for what he's done and he's so cut up about it that he's capable of anything," he said.

When Shepherd was queried on whether he felt David's feelings for suicide would come back, he stated that the answer may be tied to his relationship with Kylie.

"Potentially, He's got the potential to feel like that again if Kylie finds out the truth and leaves him. That's the worst possible outcome for David at the minute - that Kylie could leave him and take the kids with her," he said.
