Amber Heard is not ashamed of any of her past relationships, she said in a recent interview with The Edit.

While her four-year relationship with artist/photographer Tasya van Ree caused a stir in the tabloids, which wanted to define her sexuality, Heard has no desire to label herself. The 27-year-old actress said she wanted to be candid about her past same-sex relationship because she didn't want to appear embarrassed.

"I have had relationships, successful relationships, with men, and I had a great relationship with a wonderful woman," she told the online fashion magazine.

"I will never beg for an easy classification or label for that moment in my life, or assume to know what the future holds for me. I have always been and always will be just who I am and I will never fake anything for anyone," she added. "But I also felt I had a responsibility to not appear to be in hiding. I watched people around me succumb to hiding and hiding denotes shame. I feel, and felt, zero shame. We all love who we love; we don't choose it."

Heard is reportedly dating her Rum Diary co-star Johnny Depp. The pair has been romantically tied since his split from long-time partner Vanessa Paradis in 2012. Despite her high-profile relationship, Heard is more focused on her professional career and doesn't want her personal life to overshadow it. Heard currently stars in Paranoia with Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman. In the fall she will appear in Machete Kills alongside Mel Gibson and Jessica Alba.

"I want to be an artist. I don't want to be a celebrity," she told Flare about her love life in the magazine's September 2013 issue. "You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub."
