Rumors spread throughout Twitter this week that Suge Knight was arrested Sunday May 6 in Las Vegas for the murder of rap star Tupac Shakur. However the rumor is false, with a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson telling Zap2it: "I don't have any information that he has been arrested. We picked him up on some traffic warrants back in February, but since then, I'm not showing any arrests for him."

Tupac was shot to death in 1996. It is believed that he was a passenger on Knight's BMW when an unidentified shooter pulled up next to them and shot the rapper. Despite his death, his albums continued to sell throughout the years, making him one of the best selling artists in the world with over 75 million albums sold by 2007, 11 years after his death.

According to L.A. Late News, a fake video first emerged in Dec 2010, titled "2Pac's Killer Arrested" with footage of Fox news taken directly after Tupac's murder and Knight being arrested for a totally unrelated charge.

The latest Twitter rumors probably started after Knight recently suggested that Tupac is not dead, but in hiding. "Maybe the question is ... Pac's not really dead ... Pac's somewhere else," Knight said according to Mercury News on April 20. "Nobody seen Tupac dead."
