The first clip from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released Friday, featuring Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and other tributes training for the latest edition of The Hunger Games.

Katniss will face some more intense competition from her opponents as they are all previous victors returning for the 75th edition of The Hunger Games. The clip features two of those victors: Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone).

Katniss, Finnick and Johanna attack imaginary targets with their trademark weapons in the clip. Johanna appears to be using an axe, Finnick is wielding his trident and Katniss is using her signature bow and arrow.

Assuming the film sticks close to the Suzanne Collins novel of the same name, Catching Fire will be about Katniss and Peeta's (Josh Hutcherson) return to District 12 after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games.

After they go on their mandatory Victory Tour, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) announces that the 75th Annual Hunger Games will be different than usual. The Hunger Games will be called The Quarter Quell and will involve victors from past Hunger Games returning to fight to the death in the ultimate battle.

Finnick and Johanna become allies of Katniss and Peeta when they enter the arena. Other tributes that join their alliance include Finnick's mentor Mags (Lynn Cohen) and District 3 tributes Beetee (Jeffrey Wright) and Wiress (Amanda Plummer).
