President Barack Obama managed to turn away from his speech in time to catch a fainting pregnant woman on Monday afternoon.

Karmel Allison, a pregnant Type 1 diabetic, nearly collapsed during the president's speech in support of the Affordable Care Act. Standing behind Obama in the Rose Garden of the White House, Karmel took a turn for the worse nearly 25 minutes into the discussion.

Attending the event as a possible future recipient of the ACA, Karmel claimed the incident was caused by dehydration, according to the Daily Mail.

"I'm 20 weeks pregnant at this point and I hadn't had that much to drink that morning because I was worried about possibly needing to go to the bathroom during the speech," Karmel told CNN. "And as the sun hit me, I got a little lightheaded."

"I got you. You're okay," Obama said as he turned around to help, according to CNN . "This happens when I talk too long."

Although her husband, David Allison, was in the crowd, he hesitated to run to her aid for fear of how it would look to the Secret Service, he explained in a recent Twitter post.

Karmel, who was there on behalf of the American Diabetes Association, was treated by a White House physician, according to the Daily Mail. A diabetes researcher and a writer for A Sweet Life, Karmel also tweeted her thanks regarding the presidential assist.

"I'm ok world- just got a little lightheaded. Thanks, @BarackObama for catching me!" Karmel wrote.
