Demi Lovato stepped away from her judging duties on X Factor on Thanksgiving to perform her latest single Neon Lights.

The 21-year-old wore a studded black jacket and pants of the same color as she belted the upbeat song. She was also accompanied on stage by several energetic backup dancers.

After her performance, Lovato received a standing ovation from her fellow judges - Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.

Rubio also praised Lovato on Twitter and wrote, "I'm so proud of you @ddlovato !! #DemiRocksXF #NeonLights."

Many of the former Disney star's fans also took to the social network to praise her performance.

However, some weren't so supportive and bashed Lovato's live performance.

"Ew no. I'm sure if she were to audition for herself she would be rejected, terrible," tweeted one.

"That being said, her live performances are very hit and miss. This..is a miss. Sorry," wrote another.

"I wonder if Demi didn't do rehersals for that performance, she sounded really pitchy," tweeted one more.

Neon Lights is the third single off Lovato's fourth studio album, Demi, which was released in May. In February, the singer will head out on the Neon Lights tour to promote the album, along with former X Factor contestants Fifth Harmony as her opening act.

"I think it's going to be so much fun," Lovato told Ryan Seacrest in September. "There's nothing better than woman empowerment and having an all-girl tour. What's ironic is we are all from The X Factor, and that wasn't even planned. It just kind of happened that way. I helped put Fifth Harmony together and watching them now, they're going to be opening for me, it's so awesome."
