A video surfaced online Monday showing Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson telling a crowd at a Georgia Sportsmen Ministry event that men need to marry women when they are young.

"Look, you wait until they get to be 20-years-old, the only picking that's going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they are 15 or 16. They'll pick your ducks," he can be heard saying in the video from 2009, literally referring to girls removing the feathers from ducks. And if she picks your ducks, now, that's a woman."

The audience is heard laughing during his speech.

He then advises men to check with a young lady's parents before making anything official. He tells the crowd, "You need to check with mom and dad about that of course." The reality star also told the crowd that girls should cook and carry Bibles because "that'll save you a lot of trouble down the road."

"Make sure that she can cook a meal," Robertson said to the men in his audience. "You need to eat some meals that she cooks, check that out."

He went on to preach about the importance of God, citing the Bible verse, "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."

Twitter Apologizes For Blocking Phil Robertson Petition Website After Anti-Gay Remark & Suspension

Robertson married his wife, Kay Robertson, when she was 16 years old, according to her bio on the family's Duck Commander website. It is legal to marry at the age of 16 in Louisiana with the consent of both parents.

On Friday, A&E reinstated Phil after a nine-day suspension that came after GQ published controversial comments he made about homosexuals, African-Americans and other groups.

"Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there," he said. "Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers-they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."
