Morena Baccarin is confident that she very likely will not return to Homeland for an extended period of time.

Baccarin, who plays Jessica Brody on the Showtime series, confirmed to Access Hollywood at the SAG Awards Saturday that she won't be in season 4 very much, if at all.

"It's tough on the family. I don't know how they'll fit us into the story, so we may not be around as much next season," Baccarin revealed. "It's hard for everybody, but I'm really happy that the writers were able to [stay] true to the story."

Jessica's husband Nicolas Brody (Damian Lewis) was hanged in Iran in the season 3 finale, finally dying after a spending a season in hiding.

As the Brody storyline has officially concluded, there isn't much purpose in telling the story of Brody's family anymore. Additionally, season 3 was criticized for spending too much screen time on Dana Brody (Morgan Saylor), the family's moody teenage daughter.

Baccarin admitted that the Brody character has to be killed eventually, praising the Homeland writers for handling the conclusion of his story well.

"I think we had to at this point, you know? Just to give the show credibility," she said. "You can't drag out that story too long without it being ridiculous."

Even still, Baccarin admitted that it was "hard for everyone," to adjust to Brody's death, and, by extension, the end of Lewis' time on the show.
