Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha are rumored to be on a break. 

The couple wed last summer in a small ceremony after only dating for about a year and reports indicated that she spent her birthday alone in Los Angeles, while Asomugha partied in New York City for the Super Bowl festivities. 

The National Enquirer reported back in December that sources claimed the pregnant Scandal actress' career was getting in the way of their marriage. 

"Nnamdi is complaining she has time to promote her TV show, business ventures and charities, but she rarely spares an evening to be home with him," the source reportedly told the publication. "Instead of slowing down during her show's Christmas hiatus, Kerry funneled her extra time into her fashion consultation business and her responsibilities as a creative consultant for Neutrogena cosmetics."

The source also said that Asomugha isn't sure that Washington will be able to handle her career and marriage, especially with the baby on the way. 

"Kerry feels she can balance a public life and private life with Nnamdi and their baby," the source added.

The couple was last was spotted together at the Golden Globes in January.

Washington's pregnancy was first announced in October 2013, but she didn't confirm her baby bump until she spoke with E!'s Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

"I feel like I have the best date of the night, my little accessory here," she said while rubbing her stomach.
